WHY WEIGHT MATTERS

Tiles density and heavier weight contributes to its superior performance in high winds and weather extremes.

The roof structure needs to support the weight of tile, and fortunately many homes, especially those in high-end and historic areas, have been engineered to support heavier roofing materials. If a home hasn’t previously had a tile or slate roof, an inspection will determine if more support is needed. Adding reinforcement is a straightforward process and usually represents a very small portion of the total project cost.
